Uber, the ride-hailing app, will open its first New York, New Jersey and Connecticut locations this summer.
The company announced the expansion in a blog post Tuesday.
New York City is the first state to open up its UberEATS restaurant app, and UberEAT restaurants will be available across the state, the company said.
UberEats restaurants will feature a variety of cuisines from around the world, including Chinese, Italian, Italian-American, Mexican, Asian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Spanish.
New Jersey will be the first to open an UberEATER restaurant in Newark.
The New Jersey Restaurant Association, which represents restaurant owners, said the new restaurants will “add another layer of dining and entertainment to our existing and growing restaurants in our city.”
The companies will also be expanding into more cities.
The company said in a statement that it will open a number of new locations throughout New Jersey, as well as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
UberEATS restaurants will start serving in New York and New Jersey on Aug. 2, 2019, and will open in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in 2021.
The restaurant app is currently available in more than 60 cities across the U.S. Uber’s first Chicago location opened in October and will be open to all customers by the end of 2021.
The companies announced the opening of a New York location in Manhattan’s Chinatown, the same location previously operated by Uber.
Uber plans to open its next NYC location in 2019.
Uber is expected to open a second New York restaurant in 2018.
